The Clarion County Sportsmen for Youth will be hosting an Advanced Instruction Clinic in fishing for 30 kids age 12-18. The clinic is aimed at teaching youth various fishing techniques including flyfishing, spin fishing and fish identification and patterns. The event will consist of both instruction and hands-on learning. Topics to be covered include: Fly fishing, Fly tying, Spin fishing, Rod rigging, fish identification, baits, kick netting, seasons and patterning, and other fishing topics as well.

The FREE event will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 8:00am-1:00 pm at Clear Creek State Park, Shelter #2. Brunch will be provided. Tackle boxes and basic lures will be provided for attendees. Reels and supplies will be provided for use by Trout Unlimited, Iron Furnace chapter.

A chaperone must accompany the children under 16 to the event. A parental liability release will need to be downloaded upon successful registration. The release should be printed, completed, and mailed to us prior to the event.

Only 30 registrations will be accepted. Those applicants who are not successful in the first round of registration will be added to the waitlist in case a spot becomes available prior to the event.

If your registration is successful, please immediately send in a copy of the "2025 Fishing Participant Release Form"

to ensure a smooth and efficient registration for the event.

Registration process:

1) Complete and submit the online registration/application below.

2) If your registration is successful, you will receive a confirmation. You must click the link in the confirmation to download the "2025 AIC Fishing Participant Release Form", and print it out.

3) Complete the "2025 AIC Fishing Participant Release Form" and mail or email it immediately (one set for each child), to:

NOTE - Your child's registration is not considered complete until we receive the release form.
